Finding A Foothold How Do I Help My Aging Parent@2x.png

Who would have thought…not me!

I can’t say exactly when it started, me hearing that whisper in my heart that was giving me instructions to a plan that could help “helpers” of the elderly and disabled to regain hope and joy in their lives. The plan being whispered didn’t make sense because I really couldn’t hear it clearly due to the noise and clutter of my own life. Then came 2020, and what was once a whisper became more audible, and I could no longer ignore my heart and my desire to reach out to caregivers, but I never thought it would be a podcast! But here it is!

This has been crazy! I had to learn about Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, AND A PODCAST! (and really, I still don’t understand them!).  But this is also very exciting! I can’t wait to see how this podcast develops, and I can’t wait to feel part of a community that really shows up and rallies behind one another. We are in this together!

Today’s blog is inspired by the startup of the new podcast Finding A Foothold.  FindingAFoothold.com is a podcast community which invites caregivers to call-in to tell the community their caregiving struggles.  Experienced caregivers then call in to provide tips, strategies and words of encouragement to make your day easier.  Host, Consuela Marshall, Occupational Therapist provides professional insight and is also available to create a personalize home safety plan of care  for your unique situation. This community of caregivers desire to see you improve how you give care.
