Fall Prevention

Family Caregiver Support
Preventing Falls, Supporting Caregivers, Strengthening Independence.
MISSION
Empowers underserved communities by providing education and training for family caregivers and delivering comprehensive fall prevention initiatives to enhance the safety and independence of older adults.
A New Chapter
Led by Consuela Marshall, a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT, CDP, CAPS, CHAT) with 30+ years of experience supporting older adults and family caregivers across diverse communities.
Since 2021, we’ve supported families and aging adults through our for-profit work, providing home safety evaluations, coaching, and education. But in doing this work, we began to see the limitations — especially for those who couldn’t afford private services or weren’t eligible for insurance-covered care.
That’s why we launched the Finding A Foothold Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to filling those gaps. This new chapter expands what we’ve already been doing, allowing us to reach more people through community partnerships, caregiver workshops, fall prevention programs, and accessible education.
Our LLC will continue offering private services, but the Foundation allows us to serve those who’ve been overlooked — with a focus on wellness, safety, and dignity for older adults and their families.
Why It Matters.
Every 11 seconds, an older adult is treated in the ER for a fall.
Falls are the leading cause of injury-related death among adults age 65 and older.
Over 53 million Americans serve as family caregivers.
Many caregivers suffer injuries themselves due to unsafe or inefficient caregiving methods.
Most older adults want to remain in their homes, yet many families are unsure how to make that possible safely.
Caregiver stress and burnout are very real and are affecting families in our community every day. Many caregivers are trying to meet the needs of their loved ones while struggling to stay connected to their own lives and responsibilities.
The Finding A Foothold Foundation exists to help close this gap. We support older adults with practical tools to age safely and support caregivers with strategies that reduce injury, ease stress, and make care more sustainable. Together, we build stronger, safer communities—one household at a time.

OUR VISION
